Andy Slater played 183 games of first class rugby over 11 years for his beloved taranaki provincial team, 7 years of those years as captain. andy knows that big wins come from bold moves made by great coaches.
When Andy was planning a new 54 bail Waikato Rotary Platform he looked closely at how teat spray would be made and decided: “BUGGER THAT! Surely it can be done better”!
The idea of having to mix up teat spray in one drum, then transfer that mix to a second drum, inside the platform every second day, with the extra labour cost and uncertainty of knowing how well that mix was being made was out of the question.
With the help of the Moa Milking Team who were installing the platform, and his long term teat spray supplier Paul Whitley from Agmax Industries Ltd, Andy made a bold move to install a new Flowcoach Spray Sava connected to a new multi-port centre gland.
The promise of teat spray made accurately on demand throughout milking, without double handling, was worth the risk. Six months later Andy knows that his decision was a winner!
He says “Teat Spray mix is consistent at every milking, plus daily savings in labour and chemical waste. That’s what I call a good outcome.”

SAVING AND ACCURATE TEAT SPRAY MIXING
Teat spray, emollient and water are pumped automatically directly from stored containers into the Flowcoach Mixer through three individual self priming pumps.
The pumps are programmed to precisely inject exactly the right amount of water, teat spray, and emollient into a mix manifold before passing into a storage tank.
• Level Sensor controls are activated as teat spray is consumed to start/stop teat spray mixing continuously.
• Drum level monitoring alerts users to replace teat spray and emollient before drums are empty.
• Users can adjust the mix to suit changes in seasonal conditions at a moment’s notice.
Automated teat spray mixing leads to big wins in game changing efficiency!
Reductions in labour cost, improved teat hygiene, reduced product waste ...just the start!
